Video of the start of a race! The Brookfield Zoo 5K

How often does this happen? Cameraman Dan just happened to be positioned at a vantage point to watch every participant whiz by him at the start of the Life Time Fitness Run Wild 5K at the Brookfield Zoo in Brookfield, IL. Over 1000 runners participated, yours truly included (no, I won’t tell you where I’m at!). Definitely captures the jubilant energy and chaos that makes up the start of a running race!

Here’s the video link:

Race results are posted at www.lifetimerunning.com.

Of course, having such a crowd means you don’t move very fast in the beginning, being bogged down by the “herd” of humanity out in front of you. Frustrating, but oh well. In fact, I found myself laughing heartily at the witty one-liners being tossed out by fellow runners, probably the best of which was, “Gee, all that training sure paid off.” Indeed!

Anyway, enjoy! We all did.
